Key activities:
- To publicize the activities of TAC in the district through the development of articles, stories and reports.
- To regularly update the district web blogs and to develop a quarterly newsletter.
- To write articles for TAC’s national magazine Equal Treatment.
- To develop a communication strategy for the district to publicise activities and campaigns.
- To develop campaign material for district campaigns.
- To coordinate press briefings in the district and to manage and respond to media enquiries.
- To support district leadership to respond to media enquiries.
- To build relationships with local media.
- To stay abreast of local and national policy developments and challenges relevant to the HIV epidemic.
- To research and investigate successes and challenges in meeting the targets of the national strategic plan for HIV/AIDS (2007-2011) at a district level.
- To report on TAC’s work in achieving our targets in line with supporting the national strategic plan (2007-2011).
Required Skills and knowledge:
· Matric and matching experience will be considered
· Previous experience in the development of campaigns
· Have extensive knowledge of treatment literacy
· Be abreast of scientific and political information on HIV and AIDS and Tuberculosis(TB)
- Must be able to speak, read and write English very well.
· Must be able to speak, read and write the local language
· Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous
