Community Health Advocate

Mopani District: Tzaneen

Key activities:

· Assist in building TAC branches across the district

· Mobilise the community to participate in district campaign around health issues and other relevant issues within the scope of TAC

· Monitor the implementation of healthcare services at district health facilities

· Develop TAC People Living With AIDS and Women’s Rights forums in the district

· Liaise or partner with local structures such a the Local Aids Council, ward committees, and community policing forum within the scope TAC

· Contribute to the development of a database of referral services in the district

· Build strategic alliances within the community in the district

· Assist and liaise with the District Administrator and the CHA Coordinator to report on expenditure on activities regularly

Required Skills and knowledge:

· Matric and relevant HIV/AIDS experience

· Have knowledge of treatment literacy

· Computer Literate in Windows MS Office

· Bilingual (ability to speak, read, write English and at least one indigenous language)
