Current Proposed Project and Projections

Description of the project

A team of learners from Michael Denga Ramabulana Secondary school will be selected to run the project. These young people will be trained to use a camera, prepare and interview, interview skills, editing and producing the final product. They will be required to do research on HIV/AIDS, Treatment Care and Support.

Among themselves, they will have to identify team leaders, work in a team spirit, solve problems or conflict when they arise. This will not be taught to the learners they will have to develop them while working on the project.

They will be provided with two camcorders, one in each group. They will identify sources of information of the tasks allocated to them. Then they will have to go around the community to get the information they require to complete the project. These would include the use of newspapers, libraries, personal interviews, internet and any other sources.

A third main camera will be capturing them when they are executing their tasks.
On the completion of their research, a final product shall be produce. This should be an educational Digital Video Disk which can be used to educate other learners in schools around the province and elsewhere.

On the final day the two films shall be screened in a school community hall and the winner shall be identified between the two competing teams.

More copies of the DVD of the winning video will be produced and might be sold for the sustainability of the project.
